Hosted by KIPP Philadelphia Schools
KIPP Philadelphia Schools strives to recruit a talented and diverse team of educators. Teachers and school leaders who share racial and/or socioeconomic backgrounds with our students are positioned to be effective role models, and are able to bring an important perspective to our schools that enhances cultural competence.
We recognize that this impact comes with challenges. Teaching while Black in 2017 can be challenging, especially with increased attention on the murders of Black people in the United States. In collaboration with The Black Teacher Project, KIPP Philadelphia Schools is excited to offer you a session you will walk away from with practical tools you can use to sustain yourselves both inside and outside of the classroom during these intense times.
We believe that the better we care for ourselves, the better we can meet the needs of our KIPPsters.
